The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure game you might never play

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is one of the longest running manga and anime series and it enjoys global popularity. However there are some pieces of media that are exclusive only to Japan. The same being the case for Last Survivor.

I am a big JJBA fan. I love its cast of diverse characters set all around the world and throughout history. Since it has so many charming or funny personalities in it, I would love to play them as video game characters. After all, what could be better than actually being in the skin of your favourite stand user?

Well there is a game where you can, or actually could do just that. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor is a battle royale game, where a maximum of 20 players can compete with each other for the title of the ultimate stand user.

Battle Royale games, such as Fortnite, PUBG or Apex are all the rage in the last few years. Despite being a simple formula, it really mobilized gamers all over the world.

So a JJBA Battle Royale game is a match made in heaven, and yes, such game exists, created by Bandai Namco.

The bad news

The unfortunate part of the story is, that even though there is a JJBA Battle Royale game, probably you will not be playing it any time soon. It is exclusively released on Arcade machines in Japan, and currently there are no plans or news about releasing it on other platforms.

The game itself looks pretty good, each stand user has various abilities that they can use against each other. Also just like in the anime or manga, the stand powers are differentiated based on their range. Some stands are short range, thus the player has to get closer to enemies, while other players have to hide in order to fully utilize their long range stands.

Sadly, since this is a Stand Users only party, the characters from my favourite JJBA part are not present. You can only play as Part 3-5 characters for now.

I guess I will have to stick to Eyes of Heaven on my PlayStation. Which does a nice fan service, but still not the same as playing a tactical game. Let’s keep hoping.

What about you? What anime based game would you like to see being released on PC and consoles?
